Codes of the Bar
We will put God first!
It’s responding to all that God is with all that we are. We believe that we should honor God in everything we do by worshipping passionately, praying intensely, and living with integrity.
(Matthew 22:37; Colossians 3:23)
We will do anything short of sin to reach people for Christ.
People matter to God and should matter to us.
(Luke 5:31-32; 1 Corinthians 9:19)
We will accomplish more with less.
We will be good stewards of what God has given us and will use what we’ve been given to go above and beyond what we thought possible.
We will be a church that loves, accepts, and forgives.
We will love and accept people unconditionally. . . right where they are, no strings attached, and will work to lead them to the healing and wholeness available in Jesus Christ.
(Romans 5:8; John 13:34-35)
We are not a mega-church, but we are a church with a mega, God-sized vision.
We believe that God has placed Watts Bar Church in this area for a reason. We were placed here to help build “The” church and we won’t back down or let up until Jesus returns.
We will set God-sized goals.
In order to win a city with the Gospel of Jesus, we cannot think small. We will set impossible goals . . . goals that only through God can it happen.
We will be marked by change.
We believe that growth and change are vital in a believer’s life. That’s how we start out in our walk with Christ. We believe we need to be a church that is constantly moving from death to life; seeing people saved, helping believers grow as disciples. We believe that growing people change, saved people serve people, and found people find people.
We will make a difference.
We believe that God has given every person some amazing gifts. We challenge and encourage the gifts, talents, and abilities of every individual to use these gifts to honor God by serving others and making a difference in our community and world.
(Mark 10:45; 1 Peter 4:10)
We will do life together.
We believe that we were made for this. We believe that lasting life change, personal transformation, and spiritual growth best occurs in the context of authentic, life-giving relationship.
(Acts 2:42; 1 John 7-14)
We will pray hard.
We will pray like everything depends on God and work like everything depends on us.
(Ephesians 6:19-20; Colossians 4:2-6)
